March’s weather is the coolest of the spring months. In the first half of the month, you are likely to encounter at least some rain and low temperature at night eventually, but in the last half of the month, Barcelona starts to get warm and sunny. The average maximum daytime temperatures are around 16°C (about 60°F), whereas the average minimum temperature drops down to 7°C (about 44°F).

Barcelona Running Marathon
When: 8th March
Time: 8:30h
Well-known as the Zurich Marathon of Barcelona is one of the most attractive circuits in Europe. The route goes past some of Barcelona’s most iconic monuments such as the Sagrada Família, the Plaça d’Espanya, and the beach, meaning there are some great spots from you can to encourage participants.
The Barcelona Beer Festival
When: from 13th to 15th March
Where: Activities center La Farga. Carrer de Barcelona, 2, L'Hospitalet de Llobregat.
Time: 11h to 23h
In its tenth edition, Barcelona Beer Festival is the biggest Branded craft beer festival in Spain. It features more than 450 different beers from around the world. The full event costs €7 to attend and works with glass and token system, with beer tastings costing €1 each. This is a great way to try local and nationally brewed beers; additionally, it will take place gastronomy exhibitions, activities and music sessions.
Sant Medir Festival
Where: Vila de Gracia.
When: 3rd March 2020
The Sant Medir Festival is the local sweetest celebration that involves a parade with wind instruments bands, clowns, jugglers and colorful carriages driven by representatives of the thirty suburbs of the city dressed in traditional cloth and carry flags.
From their carriages’ passengers throw sweets and candies at passersby, there were a reported 60 tons of sweets handed out in recent editions. The parade ends with a colorful fireworks show which paints Barcelona’s sky in multicolor.

visit the Montjuïc Magic Fountain (in front of the Palau Nacional) any Friday or Saturday at 19h or 20h to be a witness of the most amazing water and lights show, it lasts 25 minutes.

APRIL
During April, the weather in Barcelona is warm, bright and sunny most of the days, but do not expect extreme weather conditions in the first half of the month (the temperature ranges between 16-21 degrees Celsius), anyway, the climate conditions allow you to chill on the beaches and why not explore the city by Ebike, a good choice if you don’t want to leave a bad footprint in the environment.

Sant Jordi’s Day
When: 23th April
Where: Everywhere in the city, primarily focused around Las Ramblas, Plaza Catalunya, and Passeig de Gracia
Known as the day of the book and the rose, lovers exchange books and flowers, is the local equivalent of Valentine’s Day and it's considered Catalonia’s most romantic celebration of the year.
It is also credited with being the origin of World Book Day which is celebrated on the same date.
HOLY WEEK celebrations
When: From 5th to 12th April
Where: Parroquia de Sant Agustí, Plaza Sant Agustí, 2 (Ciutat Vella)
The week running up to Easter Monday is known as Semana Santa, or "Holy Week", the major religious and cultural celebration in Spain. Aside from the traditional church services, there are also parades across the city, the most popular parade is on Good Friday on 17th April.
Be sure to try a slice of the traditional Mona de Pascua, or Easter Cake, historically made with boiled eggs inside.
April Fair
When: from the 26th of April to the 4th of May
Where: Parc del Fórum
If you want to have a local and authentic experience in the city, don't miss this traditional event, which features local dishes, music, dance, and handicrafts, this fair is a gala celebration for all. The locals donning traditional dresses, enjoying live folk music and relishing local food, wine and tapas is a common sight during this fest. Don’t miss the opportunity to dive into the Catalan culture for one day.

On April 23, will be free entrance to the Palau Guell, the distribution of tickets will be done in person in two shifts, at 10 am and 3 pm.
MAY
The summertime season starts in May, the weather turns hot, warm days with sunny and clear skies. As for sunshine, you guaranteed on average 8 hours of sun each day. The temperatures in Barcelona vary between 14°C and 22°C and occasionally reach 25°C.
Things to do in Barcelona in may 2020
Flowers Festival
When: From 9th to 20th May
Where: Girona. The average journey time by train between Barcelona Sants and Gerona is 52 minutes.
This is a good alternative plan if you are looking for things to do in places around Barcelona. The Girona’s annual Flower Festival 2020, takes place from May 9th-20th. The region is brought to life with a colorful display of flowers of all shapes and sizes that decorated the whole town. Admission is free; also, you can explore all the parks and gardens during this festival.
Free Museums in Barcelona
When: 16th May
Time: from 19h to 01h
More than 3,000 participating museums across Spain open their doors after dark, free of charge for the annual La Nit dels Museums. Across Barcelona, you can wander around the city’s world-class museums through the night, as well as enjoying concerts, performances, guided tours, shows, workshops and activities for the whole family.
Designed to give everybody the possibility of visiting these important cultural institutions, around 80 museums take part each year, so make a list of the places you want to visit that night.

Festival Ciutat Flamenco

From 1993, the annual Festival Ciutat Flamenco celebrates the traditional dance with performances around the country. In Barcelona, there are plenty of events, both traditional and modern, to enjoy; it takes place at different venues in Barcelona during May between the 16th and the 31st.
